This weekend was one of those that just makes your heart feel full.

The kind where you look around and think, this… this is what matters.

My boys.

Carter—the dude. My smart, sly, quietly hilarious boy. He has this humor that sneaks up on you, and not everyone gets to see it, which honestly makes it even more special. I get a front-row seat to it, and I don’t take that for granted. He’s kind, loving, and so thoughtful in ways that catch me off guard sometimes. He’s growing into such an incredible human, and I find myself just watching him some days, wondering how I got so lucky.

He just had his last soccer game—maybe forever, maybe not. We’ll see what happens with football in the fall. Either way, I love watching him find what he enjoys and grow into himself.

And then there’s Daniel.

Daniel, my little treasure collector. Out of nowhere, this boy has developed a deep love for keys. Where did that come from? No one knows. But if you have a cool key, Daniel will gladly take it, cherish it, and probably sleep with it. He carries them everywhere like they’re priceless artifacts, and honestly, to him, they are.

He’s about to finish his first year of pre-K, and we are all so ready for summer. Carter fully understands what summer means—no schoolwork, more freedom, more fun. Daniel… he’s about to find out, and I cannot wait to see his reaction.

And this fall? Both of them starting new sports. Daniel in soccer and Carter in football.

I already know it’s going to be chaos in the best way. Two excited boys learning a new sport at the same time? I should probably start stocking up now—Tylenol, heating pads, and maybe even a full-body bubble suit. Because if you’ve ever seen how my boys show excitement, you know they come in hot—running, jumping, full force. I’m pretty sure in a couple of months I’ll look like a well-loved, slightly overripe, bruised peach… and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

One of the sweetest things about Daniel right now is his love for bugs. He genuinely believes every bug has a family that needs them. He wants the ants to stay inside so they can be together. He gets sad if a fly is trapped in the house because now—who is taking care of the fly’s babies?

But the moment you tell him that flies poop every time they land… suddenly, he’s very okay with shutting the door and taking care of the problem. The logic is impressive.

We also have a big trip coming up in June, and let’s just say—all three of us are ready. I’m already thinking we might need to start a countdown paper chain by May. Family, Buc-ee’s, the beach, Gator Country, Moody Gardens—we are coming for you. Right now, we’re working on boundaries and listening to Mom so we can have the best vacation possible. (Prayers appreciated.)

And somewhere in the middle of all this life, I’m feeling the pull to start sewing again. My sewing room is calling me, and I really need to get back to my Block of the Month Club that I’ve fallen behind on. Although, apparently, I’m already on a deadline—Carter has claimed the quilt, and it’s not even started yet.

These are the moments I want to hold onto.

The loud ones. The funny ones. The slightly chaotic, love-filled ones.

The ones that remind me that even in the middle of everything else… I’m already living the best parts of my life.

And if I’m being honest, the brightest, loudest, most neon threads in my quilt are these two boys—holding everything together in the most chaotic, hilarious, full-force way. They don’t match, they don’t sit still, and they definitely don’t stay in neat lines… but somehow, they make the whole thing stronger, brighter, and completely ours. And I wouldn’t stitch it any other way.
